Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
GlenMate LLC ("GlenMate," "we," "us," or "our") operates the GlenMate City Pulse mobile application and related web services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use GlenMate City Pulse.
GlenMate also offers other products (such as GlenMate Kids Learning). Those products have separate privacy policies. This policy applies only to GlenMate City Pulse.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:
- Location preferences (coarse): City and state you enter to personalize local and regional feeds. We do not collect precise GPS location from your device for GlenMate City Pulse unless we explicitly ask for permission in a future version.
- Interests and preferences: News topics you select (for example, sports, business, politics) and optional interest keywords you provide.
- Device identifier: A random identifier generated on your device ("device impression ID") used to save your preferences without requiring an account.
- Account information (optional): If you choose to register, we may collect your name, email address, and other profile details you provide.
- Usage information: Basic technical data needed to load feeds and operate the Service (for example, app requests to our servers). We do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Personalize your feed experience (My Pulse, City Pulse, and USA Pulse)
- Store your preferences on your device and on our servers
- Deliver news summaries, articles, and related content from third-party sources
- Improve reliability, security, and performance of the Service
- Respond to support requests if you contact us
3. Where data is stored
Preferences and profile data are sent to GlenMate servers (for example, api.glenmate.com) to load your personalized feeds. Some information is stored locally on your device (for example, in browser or app storage).
4. Third-party content
GlenMate City Pulse displays links and summaries from third-party news publishers. When you tap an article, you may leave our Service and be subject to that publisher's privacy practices. We do not control third-party websites.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers who help us host and operate the Service (under confidentiality obligations)
- When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, etc.), with notice where required
6. Tracking and advertising
On the web version of GlenMate City Pulse (pulse.glenmate.com), we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — for example how many people visit, and approximate country and city derived from IP address. This helps us improve the Service. Analytics is not loaded inside the native iOS/Android app shells.
GlenMate City Pulse is not designed for cross-app tracking. We do not sell your personal information or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. If we introduce advertising in a future version, we will update this policy and our App Store privacy disclosures before those features go live.
7. Children's privacy
GlenMate City Pulse is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. You may stop using the Service or clear app data on your device at any time.
9. Your choices
- Update city, state, and topic preferences in the app via Preferences
- Clear local app storage by removing the app from your device
- Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of account data if you registered
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
